On March 14th 2022, the United Kingdom's Secretary of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Michael Gove launched a website allowing interested parties to register interest in providing shelter for a minimum of six months to refugees coming from the violence and destruction at the hands of the Russians in Ukraine. According to the gov.uk :Ukrainians arriving in the UK under this scheme will be granted 3 years leave to remain, with entitlement to work, and access benefits and public services." meaning they will be able to work and operate as equal citizens of the UK outside of few other perks such as voting.
The biggest issue with this right now is that you must know of a specific Ukrainian refugee(s) and fill in their visa applications which will be vetted and undergoing security checks starting Friday, March 18th. However local charities, faith groups, and local community organizations have started actively attempting to connect interested parties without any pre-existing Ukrainian connections to such individuals.
