UK Opens Travel to All Regardless of Vaccination Status

The last couple of years have been hard for tourists and really anyone wishing to go anywhere. This has been slowly changing as the COVID-19 cases have fluctuated with lockdowns of different degrees being put into place (and often ignored) by the British government as well as travel to other countries being heavily restricted and being nearly totally cut off at one point.

However, as of today, March 18th 2022, all individuals, vaccinated and non-vaccinated are allowed to come into the United Kingdom from any country (outside of those with sanctions) without having to meet any other requirements or completing any other actions. Gone is the red list, the passenger locating forms, and fading is the "quarantine hotels" which have been mostly unused since December and will be officially decommissioned at the end of the month. It is important to note however that in leaving the UK you will still have to follow your destination country's entry requirements which will vary and you should research and prepare accordingly.

It is also no longer mandatory to wear a mask while travelling, however it is highly recommended that you do. 90,000 new cases of COVID-19 were reported yesterday and we are on track to hit new case highs very soon. People are still dying from this virus though dramatically less since the vaccines became widely available early last year.

Should you decide to come to Hull or Norwich on your journeys, we hope you'll stay in one of our vacation rental properties, you can find more information about them on our "Booking" page.

Travel safe out there,
