The Deep (Hull's Aquarium)

*Written by Vicky B.I*

In 2002, one of the wonders of the world was opened in Hull city. ''The Deep aquarium'', I find it really exhilarating writing about the Deep aquarium because it was opened two decades ago and has since then been advancing, in terms of marine education and conservation. The Deep aquarium located in Hull, is no doubt one of the most astounding places in the world, you need to visit. Billed as the world's only submarium, it contains thousands of sea creatures including turtles, penguins, the Uk's only Green sawfish and seven species of sharks.

In 2013, the aquarium was voted the best family place to visit in Hull city. As part of the regeneration of Hull, the Deep has become an internationally recognised landmark and has even featured on a Royal Mail stamp! With it's magnificent history, dated back to the 16th century. when Hull castle was built and parts were made into a citadel in 1681, mud dug up from the victoria dock was used to extend the foreshore and create the land that now holds the deep. The Deep has been visited by over 80 million people, the aquarium uses a combination of hands on immersive displays and a living exhibit to feel the story of the world's oceans as it comes to life. The museum includes a series of exhibits presenting a chronological journey from the begining of time through the present day oceans.

The Deep also contains an alternative area where visitors can learn to control an under water diving vessel. The aquarium exhibits include: the tropical lagoon of light, brightly coloured tropical fish and rays. Hull city's Deep aquarium is Europe's deepest viewing tunnel at 9 meteres 30ft and a glass lift through the tank. You must have envisaged the Deep aquarium to be one of the most ethereal places in the world, admittedly, you're not far from the truth. With millions of people trooping into Hull, accomodation is essential, leisure and tourism facilities are known to influence property value. You may be wondering how Hull is requisite for real estate development, the answer is tourism and real estate correlate with one another. The Deep aquarium is a well-known tourist hotspot in Hull city, the infrastructures and facilities available in the place will be augumented and upgraded constantly. If you own a property in this location, your house value will be boosted as long as your facilities and amenities are deemed convienent by your tenants and potential buyers. Statistics have shown that over 850,000 people visit the Deep aquarium in Hull city yearly, properties located in areas around the Deep will be in good demand and the property value would be increased over time. With the availability of sophisticated facilities and amenities, expats would show interest in staying in these places as they feel closer to home.

Although many prominent hotels and resorts are available, tourists can easily book a short term vacation home at an affordable rate. There are websites available like www.padoo.org where tourists can book for accomodation and landlords can advertise their homes. Some residence that are developed with entertainment components attracts buyers who eventually lease them for vacation rental. Most buyers consider such property as their investment. Finally, Hull is continuing to grow it's reputation as a First-class tourist destination, owing to this fact, the economy will experience unprecedented growth compared to other cities and regions across the country. Tourism brings millions of pounds into the city, with over 60% income generated from occupancy.; therefore if you invest in real estate development in Hull city now, your property value will increase tremendously in years to come.
