Puffins Land in East Yorkshire

Source: Hollie Van De Vyver (Artist)

If you’ve been to Princes Quay lately you might have noticed a new statue friend by Beverley Gate. Starting today “Puffins Galore!”, an artistic project intended to provide joy and further local beauty will be discoverable throughout the city center with 7 unique puffin sculptures across Hull of a total 42 throughout East Yorkshire.

The project was initially funded by the Yorkshire Coast BID and East Riding Council and at the end of their stay with us the puffins will be sold to their sponsors or at a grand charity auction “to support charities working locally to promote conservation and preserve life at sea. Hornsea Inshore Rescue, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution all benefit from the proceeds of the project.”

For exact details and a map of where each puffin is, go to puffinsgalore.co.uk.
