Meerkats Come to Pickering Park

This Saturday, April 30th, the aviary in Pickering Park that already hosts a variety of birds, small mammals and reptiles will be welcoming a few meerkats into the family.

The announcement was initially made on March 3rd by the Friends of Pickering Park, a community charity group responsible for improving the park and it's facilities. Their previous projects include a sensory garden and a garden on an abandoned bowling green.

In the March 3rd announcement, they also announced a bandstand was being constructed, Mrs Rowntree's water fountain has been refurbished and is once again functioning, and African parrots shall be coming soon as well once the temperatures rise to a level they will be comfortable in.

The park can be located on Pickering Road in west Hull, postal code HU4 7AB.

There is no entry fee for the any of the park's attractions including the aviary, playground and outdoor exercise equipment, proper fishing documentation is required for the fishing lake as per government guidelines. Please refer to them if you are interested in that.

We look forward to meeting the new animals soon and continuing to witness the park grow and evolve into something truly beautiful.
