“About Us”, a light and sound show celebrating the creation of everything and story of how life came to be arrived in Victoria Square on April 30th, continuing with shows every night until May 6th at 9:30 PM.
I was able to accidentally catch a showing as I was headed to McDonalds as I spotted the crowd of hundreds gathering and heard as the lady on the speakers announced “5 minutes until the show begins” followed by a witty scientific fact I didn‘t think to jot down.
The show itself is a solid hour and illuminates the buildings that can be seen from Queen Victoria Square using the city hall as the main stage. A live choir stands dramatically front and center backing the narrations of poetry and storytelling of the Big Bang on through history, explaining how everything is connected in a beautiful and mystifying fashion. I definitely recommend catching one of the last two shows if you have the time.
